The chicken enchiladas with the salsa roja is a dish we enjoy repeatedly at Vaqueros. In the neighborhood and one of our favorite Tex-Mex restaurants in the area.

Well let me start off by saying that Vaquero's is delicious food and absolutely bomb drinks! The bartender Chao serves up the most delicious drinks!!! The food is best Tex -Mex in Austin! We will definitely come back to Vaquero's , the service is great and the food was delicious and savory!!!!

The creamy texture was spot on. It had just the right amount of spice and heat. It is great with chips, added to the rice and beans, and sneaking a spoonful because it was so good.

Excellent flavors. The sauce was great with the enchiladas, rice, and beans. The meat and the shrimp were seasoned well. I liked it so much that I got some to take home.

WOW. My aunt and I came in on Saturday for a late lunch and was so impressed with the quality of the food and drinks, even our awesome waiter! But what really got us?? THE TRES LECHES CAKE!!! So moist and flavorful, we are definitely returning soon for this particular dish!

This was not your typical tortilla soup. The smoked chicken, vegetables, broth, and tortilla chips had a well balanced flavor. I was only sorry to reach the bottom of the cup. Definitely getting a bowl next time!

It was nice to see it prepared right at the table. The avacado was perfectly ripe. The seasonings, lime juice, jalapeno, tomatoe, cilantro, and onion were fresh. Great flavor that went well with chips, added to the meal, and even by itself. Some of the best I've had.
